Yes there's a toilet in the story, but NO potty humour - NO pooping, farting etc.

Illustrations and formatting are complete and the book is ready for printing at our chosen printer in Melbourne.

Funny books are often enjoyed by children who are otherwise reluctant to read, However laughter and humour has an even more powerful place in child development. Laughter has been found to:

Foster resilience, decrease anxiety and counter stress
Children with a well-developed sense of humour have been shown to have higher self-esteem and handle adversity and challenges better.
On a physical level there is established scientific evidence that laughter aids blood pressure and digestion, and improves the function of an individuals’ immune system.

We're all for 'message' based books and have some in production, but there's nothing quite like a laugh-out-loud funny story for boosting emotions and helping us all feel better!

Books are offered at a cheaper price during the pre-order period.

Additional items such as stickers, bookmarks, and activity and colouring pages are available with pre-ordered books. Only the colouring pages will be available later.

Pre-ordering helps independent authors / publishers such as us, provide you with a premium printed product, as we're able to consolidate the orders into one printing run. Traditionally published authors only make 5% per book from their work - so pre-ordering helps us provide a quality product for you, while also providing the author with and creator of the book with a worthwhile return for their labor.

We're offering two ways you can pre-order "Blimey There's a Bunyip!"

1. Straight from this site! Just visit our Bookstore to pre-order using PayPal or debit or credit card using our secure payment gateway. Pre-orders will close on August 19 and all orders will be submitted to our Melbourne based printer. Six weeks later we will receive the books from the printer and post them out to indiviudal customers. We will keep you updated throughout the printing and delivery process.

2. Visit our Kickstarter Page. Here you can place a pre-order by pledging to order a book. NO payment is taken from your card until the Kickstarter project reaches its printing goal on August 22. On August 23 all pledges to order the book will be charged to the purchasers card, and orders for professional printing of the book will be placed with our Melbourne based printer. Six weeks later we will receive the books from the printer and post them out to indiviudal customers. We will keep you updated throughout the printing and delivery process.

"We" is basically me - Veronica Ferguson, the Australian author of "Blimey There's a Bunyip!" and the creator of Fireworks Press and the children's book imprint, Brave Fox Books.

I was super creative as a kid growing up in rural Victoria, but laid it aside to initially pursue studies in veterinary science. Now decades later - and with degrees in counselling and social work - I am enjoying getting back to my creative roots and bringing joy to children through that creativity.
